Rountree Historical Walk & Talk Summer Series I

  • 952 South Pickwick Avenue Springfield, MO, 65804 United States (map)

Come say hi, connect, and get educated on historic preservation! We hope you join us as we explore the rich tapestry of our shared heritage and the vital efforts to protect and celebrate it. Historic preservation is more than just maintaining old buildings; it’s about preserving the stories, culture, and identity that connect us to our past and guide our future. Each month, we gather to discuss the significance of preserving historical sites, the challenges we face, and the innovative solutions being implemented worldwide.

This month’s Historical Walk & Talk Topic: “Window Restoration for Maximum Sustainability” & “Preservation in Progress” Walk Thru. See a historic home in its rebuild phase after a house fire. Engage with Homeowner-Interior Designer Sharon Taylor Gullett and meet the Design & Build Team, Sunset Home. A collaboration of Artisans.

It’s a porch, lawn and house party walk thru, but it includes two great educational presentations and a wonderful opportunity to learn from Craftsmen and Designers on thoughtful building concepts that honor historic architecture and design.

Can’t do stairs?  Pull up a chair on the lawn and listen to live musicians performing on the front porch. Good old fashioned summer time fun playing lawn games, catching fireflies, and connecting with neighbors about preservation.
